Welcome to Rogue Valley Masters

Who We Are

Rogue Valley Masters is a workout group registered under the Oregon Masters Swimming Local Masters Swimming Club (LMSC) of the parent organization United States Masters Swimming. We welcome all to come swim with us! Most of us swim for fitness, while several of us also like to compete. Rogue Valley Masters (RVM) was founded in Ashland, Oregon and is a community-based swim team with dedicated swimmers of all ages (18+) and abilities. Currently, we share coaching responsibilities among our members, rotating each swimmer through a schedule. It allows for variety in the workouts and lowers our operational costs. Feel free to contact us via email: roguevalleymasters@yahoo.com. We can also be contacted on our Rogue Valley Masters Facebook Page.

Where We Swim

We swim at Daniel Meyer Pool in Hunter Park in Ashland. Daniel Meyer pool is a municipal pool located at 1705 Homes Ave, Ashland, OR 97520. Send any inquiries to roguevalleymasters@yahoo.com.

For over three decades, Rogue Valley Masters swam at the Southern Oregon University pool in Ashland, located on the East side of the campus in McNeal Hall on the corner of Webster and Stadium streets.  In June of 2015, McNeal Pavilion was closed for demolition and rebuilt into a new student rec center without a pool, so we moved permanently to Daniel Meyer.

Workouts

  • Monday through Friday from 5:45 am to 7:00 am and Sunday at 7:30 am.
  • Extended hours from 5:45 am until 8:00 am on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The usual workout is run from 5:45-7:00 and then the pool remains open until 8:00 for anyone that would like to swim longer or arrive later. The workout is on the board but is optional after 7:00.

Locker Rooms

There are Men’s and Women’s heated locker rooms with doors opening to the pool deck. Lockers are available but you must bring your own lock. Showers are available.

IMPORTANT: USMS Requirements

All swimmers must be a registered member of United States Masters Swimming (USMS) or be in a pre-approved 30-day consecutive trial period. To obtain a trial waiver, sign one at the pool, or visit the USMS trial form page.

Fees

Anyone is welcome to become a member of RVM. Our free trial period is the same 30 days as USMS for you to check us out before joining. Once you join, you’ll join OMS as well ($65 for the calendar year). RVM pool dues are $40 per month or $10 per swim drop-in; we also have punch cards as an alternative to drop-in, which lowers per-swim fees slightly from regular drop-in. Dues are due on the 15th of each month.
